I have a problem which has been persistent ever since I started using Zend Studio (v5.5). I'm currently using version 8.0.1 and I'm quite annoyed that this bug hasn't been fixed yet.The problem is this. I have old projects and new projects. Old projects are encoded using ISO-8859-1 and new projects are in UTF-8. Since I mostly work on the newer projects, I have set the workspace default encoding to UTF-8. To avoid problems with old projects, I have set a project specific encoding (ISO-8859-1) on all my old projects. But for some reason, Zend Studio forgets the encoding that I have put specifically for an old project! I don't know how or when this happens, but after some time the encoding is set to the workspace default encoding (UTF-8).

As a consequence, a lot of characters are messed up. Because of this, I have to check and set the encoding to ISO-8859-1 EVERY TIME i open one of my old projects. Why?? Does Zend Studio have Alzheimers?

Why People use Sourceguardian Php Encoder?. Powerful protection. We have added an option for encoding HTML templates, or other non-PHP files, using the SourceGuardian encoder. HTML templates or other non-PHP files may be encoded by the encoder, then read and decrypted from the protected scripts code. Template files which are encoded as part of the project may be used only from the protected scripts which were encoded as a part of the same project. It’s impossible to use protected templates from unencoded scripts or from scripts encoded with a different SourceGuardian project.

Built-in support.
