Dsc Pc Link Programming Software

I would like to program the panel via DSC software and using the DSC PC-Link local download kit DB09. Could someone tell me if it is possible to connect to the new PC1832 panel directly to a computer for programming? I connect my PC-Link cable and have the DLS Software 2002 ready to connect and go to enable the communication in section 499.

I enter installer programming, (.8,5555 and then go to 499 and put my installer code in again 5555, and then put the section again 499) and I just get a long beep and it doesn't try to connect to the PC-Link it just is back at what section I would like to enter. I have seen this on another 832 panel but I thought DSC would have this fixed for all the new 1832 panels. I know my cable is good because I can program a 864 just fine. I talked with DSC support and they had me disable 380 option 1 and check my computer comm settings and finally just said the panel is bad. I don't think it is bad because it is brand new and I have seen this on other panels. I would appreciate any help.

Did you resolve this?? If so how?If not, does the system have any trouble conditions, ie, batt, phone, etc?According to the manual, the PC-LINK can not be enabled when the system is trying to communicate, which is why they tell you to turn off communicaiton in 380. I think the TLM tries to communicate every 10 seconds if there is trouble. Also, make sure the PC is already connected, and IN download mode waiting for keypad entry. If the alarm doesn't detect the PC after 499, it will quit immediately, so the keypad sequence must be done last. However, I have seen this on an 1864, and that didn't resolve the problem. Neither did 999 reset, Z1 & PGM1 reset, nor making sure a keypad was in slot 8.Thanks,CadJoe.
